Barback

 Akash Winery & Vineyard is a newly established winery in the heart of Temecula Wine Country. Established in 2010 we are 100% estate grown and family owned. We are currently under construction but that is what is exciting, as we get to experience the growth of the winery from the ground up!

Ideally, we are seeking barbacks to help with smooth running of our tasting room. The role will initially be weekend work, and will be working alongside our fun vibrant team. The position will report directly to the Tasting Room Manager, and be responsible for making sure our guests receive a 5 star experience each, and every time they visit. The ideal candidate is a person who is extremely passionate about wine, and has knowledge of the Temecula Wine Region. Plus, has a can-do attitude.

Job Description Details 

  • Excellent people skills, able to project a friendly and helpful manner at all times

  • Ability to multi-task and be situationally aware of your surroundings

  • Assist with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar area with wine, water, glasses, towels and anything needed for the Servers to complete their duties

  • Ensuring the wines are kept cool, and well stocked with ice

  • Keeping the bar area and general areas clear of clutter and rubbish

  • Keeping bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glass-wear, cleaning bathrooms and emptying trash cans.

  • Help Servers by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water

  • Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact

  • Able to perform quality of work efficiently with minimal supervision

  • Able to be responsive and flexible at last minute requests

  • Be open to change

  • General cleanliness of the venue

  • Washing glasses

  • Assisting with transporting wine to customer vehicles if needed

Qualifications 

  • Able to work a flexible schedule (weekends, holidays and evenings)

  • High school diploma or equivalent and / or qualified experience required

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • General math skills, be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages

  • Verbal communication, customer service, resolving conflict, teamwork, persistence, selling to customer needs, thoughtfulness, professionalism, client relationship building

  • Warm and friendly, outgoing and trustworthy

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

  • Ability to attend training sessions when required

Physical Requirements 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Be able to co-ordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours per day
