Akash Winery & Vineyard is a newly established winery in the heart of Temecula Wine Country. Established in 2010 we are 100% estate grown and family owned. We are currently under construction but that is what is exciting, as we get to experience the growth of the winery from the ground up!
Ideally, we are seeking an experienced wine industry server, initially for weekend work to join our fun vibrant team. The position will report directly to the Tasting Room Manager and be responsible for making sure our guests receive a 5 star experience each and every time they visit. The ideal candidate is a person who is extremely passionate about wine, has knowledge of not only the Temecula Wine Region but various regions across the USA and around the world. Plus, have a can-do attitude towards bottles sales and wine club sign ups.
Job Description Details
Ability to describe wines through a guided tasting experience
Greets all visitors to the Winery and pours wines for tasting
Effectively suggests and sells wine & club memberships to customers
Describe Akash Winery wines and the winery history to customers
Answers visitor questions and able to provide general tourist information
Excellent people skills, able to project a friendly and helpful manner at all times
Ability to multi-task and be situationally aware of your surroundings
Able to perform quality of work efficiently with minimal supervision
Able to be responsive and flexible at last minute requestsBe open to change
General cleanliness of the bar, standing and seating areas
Opening and closing procedures
Open to working on site special events after hours if needed
Open to working other special events off property when needed
Acquires and maintains thorough knowledge of winery and our wines
Work in a team environment and open to performing other duties as assigned
Able to describes Temecula Valley Wine Region and other wineries within the Temecula Valley including their wines
May be assigned other tasks or be asked to participate in other activities both on site and off site as needed
And any other duties that may be required from the server that do not make up part of their role
Qualifications
Minimum WSET 2 level wine education
Able to work a flexible schedule (weekends, holidays and evenings)
High school diploma or equivalent and / or qualified experience required
Wine related experience including tasting, grape-growing and other regions
Proficient and or familiar with POS systems (Orderport)
Professional appearance and demeanor
General math skills, be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages
Verbal communication, customer service, resolving conflict, teamwork, persistence, selling to customer needs, thoughtfulness, professionalism, client relationship building
Warm and friendly, outgoing and trustworthy
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to attend training sessions when required
Physical Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age
Be able to co-ordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Able to lift up to 40 pounds
Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours per day
